Modern Yet Contextual Fitout for Toowoomba Family Vets
When the owner of Toowoomba Family Vets decided to open his first veterinary practice in one of Toowoomba’s most iconic buildings, he knew the eyes of the entire community would be on the new clinic.
The site for Toowoomba Family Vets was a historical building that had been home to the famous Weis seafood restaurant for more than 40 years. As such, it was a location that held a lot of sentimental value for Toowoomba residents. The owner wanted to preserve much of the building’s charm, while still ensuring the layout and fitout looked modern and featured clean lines and created an easily-flowing space.
Elite Fitout Solutions came on board to help him realise this dream. The new design turned existing elements of the building’s design and fitout, including wooden window panelling and exposed brick walls, into central features of the veterinary practice’s look and feel. This was further reinforced with timber-look Laminex panelling and cupboards, plus timber-look plank vinyl in the reception area.
An equally earthy tone was struck with the industrial concrete look flooring, which was used in the treatment and consultation rooms for its robust and easy-clean nature.
To meet the owner’s vision for a simultaneously contextual, yet modern and easily-flowing space, a clean and striking colour scheme was chosen with various shades of dark and light kingfisher blue carefully applied throughout the practice. The result was a homogenous space, equally modern and clean, yet rustic and in keeping with the character of the site.
Practice owner and head veterinarian David Hall was positively glowing in his praise for Elite’s work:
“Not only did Elite do an exceptional job, they were fantastic to work with at every stage of the process.”
